Last update:12 October 2023
Nepal’s education plans and aspirations have challenges like poor coordination between stakeholders, inconsistency in education training and livelihood requirements, demands of a digital age, and the risk of vulnerable groups falling behind in terms of enrolment, completion and learning outcomes.

UNESCO Nepal supports coordination between education stakeholders to localize SDG4 actions and strengthen education sector planning and coordination in the federal structure. With the goal of creating a sustainable, healthy and inclusive future for Nepalis, the Organization works towards promoting inclusive educational practices and applying core UNESCO frameworks like GCED, ESD, Futures of Education, the Management of Social Transformation (MOST) and Future Literacy.

The objective of the Organization is to leverage inclusive and equitable quality education for human development.
