Selection of Participants

Youth Newsroom (YNR) reporters are young international students or recently graduated between 20 - 30 years old, with a media relevant speciality or experience in media production, and a strong interest in the field of media and information literacy. A mix of Students/influencers from various media including written media, radio, video, digital communications, social media, and other creative outlets are being invited to the Youth Newsroom.

The selection process of these young professionals should respect gender equality and, to the extent possible, geographical representations to ensure the expression of a diversity of opinions and point of views in the newsroom. In addition, YNR candidates are strongly encouraged to use the working language they are most comfortable with (within the six official languages of UNESCO).

Formats

Youth Newsroom participants will join the conference in person. A fully equipped newsroom close to the main conference rooms will be made available for the students to work in.
