91Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ created the Multipartner Trust Fund for Education Recovery and Transformation (MPTF), a pooled fund, public private financing mechanism aiming at providing a flexible and response source of financing for Latin America and the Caribbean. This platform will promote program coherence, donor coordination, and reduce the fragmentation of funding.

We are experiencing the greatest educational crisis in the last 100 years. The impact of COVID-19 has been especially severe in Latin America and the Caribbean, the most unequal region in the world, affecting more than 170 million students, who have lost an average of 1.5 years of schooling.

Before the pandemic, the region was already facing a serious learning crisis. Data from UNESCO´s  Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education (LLECE) state that in the region more than 40% of third grade students in Reading and Mathematics do not reach the minimum level of competences, and more than 60% of sixth grade students do not reach it in Language, Mathematics and Sciences.
