About UNESCO Perú

We work to support the efforts of the Peruvian state in ensuring prosperity, equality, and equity within the framework of Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.
Last update:20 December 2023

Our work focuses on ensuring that education, science, and culture serve as drivers and endpoints for the consolidation of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue.

We advocate for evidence-based work, synergy, and partnerships that allow us to accelerate the reduction of inequities. Placing populations at the center of our action, we concentrate on transforming rural and migrant education by coordinating state services and communities in an agenda to protect and promote life projects. This includes promoting heritage and culture, preserving indigenous languages, and cultural management as fundamental instruments for inclusion and the fight against inequality. Additionally, we seek to integrate conservation with a humanized perspective that enables communities to be involved in local development and the conservation of glaciers, seas, forests, Amazonian ecosystems, national parks, and biosphere reserves. We also work to ensure the full exercise of the right to information within the framework of media-literate citizenship with information literacy.

In our 25 years of work in the country, 91Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ mobilized 120 projects in 18 regions, creating opportunities and development platforms for nearly 100,000 Peruvians.
