The UNESCO Office in Viet Nam

The Office of UNESCO in Viet Nam (UNESCO Ha Noi Office) has been working closely with Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO and concerned Ministries to enable a common understanding and common approach around key issues in its areas of competence.

UNESCO Ha Noi Office will use its convening power to facilitate relevant partnerships between government, the private sector and local communities, actively seeking opportunities to widen the scope of cooperation moving forward.

UNESCO’s priorities in Viet Nam will follow four thematic lines of action:

  • Learning for the Future;
  • Science for Sustainability;
  • Placing Culture at the Heart of Development;
  • Informing Social Development Through Media

Support for SDGs is integrated within the thematic concentrations identified by the Office’s sectors in Education, Culture, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, and Communication and Information. Intersectoral in nature, they reflect the complex reality of development challenges, as well as the multifaceted approach that will be necessary to overcome them.
