The intellectual and emotional development during the first eight years of a child’s life lays the foundation for lifelong learning and overall well-being. Sustainable Development Goal 4.2 aims to ensure that ‘all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary Education’ by 2030. UNESCO Bangkok’s ‘Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)’ programme supports efforts by Member States to expand and improve comprehensive ECCE through advocacy, partnerships, research, and capacity-development projects.
