UNESCO Pays Tribute to the Late Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia

It was with profound sadness that the UNESCO Windhoek Office, on Monday, 5 February 2024, at 9 am observed a minute of silence and reflected on the remarkable leadership of Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, the former President of Namibia, who succumbed to cancer on Sunday, 4 February 2024.
As we mourn the passing of a great stalwart, let us continue to honour his legacy and build ‘One Namibia’, holding high the banner of liberty.
During this trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Namibian nation at large.
