UNESCO invites World Heritage site managers and archivists in South-East Asia to an exclusive workshop
The UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok is inviting site managers and archivists whose work is related to World Heritage Sites in South-East Asia to participate in an exclusive online workshop on 20-21 November 2024, via Zoom.
The ‘Introduction to World Heritage Site Archives Management in South-East Asia’ workshop is part of a UNESCO/Japanese Funds-In-Trust project titled ‘Safeguarding World Heritage Archives in South-East Asia’. It is designed specifically for South-East Asian UNESCO World Heritage site managers, archiving experts, and archivists from national archiving agencies.
The workshop will take place across two half-day sessions and include a series of lectures and interactive exercises. Participants will focus on real case studies from World Heritage Sites in Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand: the , the , and the .
The participants will learn directly from experts who contributed to the , and . They will develop tools to understand, organize, preserve, and utilize archives effectively to safeguard the heritage and integrity of their sites. They will receive an online certificate on completion of the workshop.
