UNESCO Director-General condemns killing of journalist Diomedes Farid Manrique in Colombia
I condemn the killing of Diomedes Farid Manrique and call for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. Journalists play a crucial role in informing the public and attacks against them must therefore not go unpunished.
Diomedes Farid Manrique was the announcer of the radio station Ol铆mpica St茅reo. He was reportedly shot dead in a restaurant by two armed men.
