UNESCO Cup 2015: Juventus vs Boca Juniors Legends at the Juventus Stadium

On Thursday 18 June, the Juventus Stadium in Turin (Italy) will stage the second edition of the 鈥淯NESCO Cup鈥. The match, scheduled to kick off at 20.45, will star the players from Juventus Legends and Argentina鈥檚 Boca Social in a charity challenge.
The news was announced at a press conference today at the Juventus Stadium, with UNESCO Assistant-Director General for External Relations and Public Information Eric Falt, David Trezeguet, President of the Juventus Legends and Enzo Pagani, President of Boca Social.
The first edition of the UNESCO CUP was held last year and pitched Juventus against Real Madrid in a thrilling day of sport involving some of the world鈥檚 most celebrated footballers.
This year, the Boca Juniors champions will be represented by Mart矛n Palermo, Claudio Caniggia, Roberto Abbondanzieri and Guillermo Barros Schelotto and most of the stars who played in the 2000, 2003 and 2007 Intercontinental Cups.
The Juventus Legends, for their part, will be fielding some of their best-loved champions, including David Trezeguet, Pavel Nedved, Edgar Davids, Mauro Camoranesi, Paolo Montero e Ciro Ferrara.
The proceeds of the match will go to UNESCO, which is working in partnership with Juventus to fight against racism and discrimination and promote social integration.
Under that partnership, UNESCO and Juventus have set up two projects to support the social reintegration of child soldiers in Mali and the Central African Republic. These two projects aim to provide the necessary assistance to foster reintegration of child soldiers into a peaceful society and ensure that they receive technical and vocational training that will allow them to learn simple trades, become independent and take part in cultural, sports and artistic activities, as well as literacy courses to regain hope and confidence in themselves.
The third project jointly funded by Juventus and UNESCO is a research programme that aims to analyse the link between episodes of discrimination and hindrance to inclusion at international level in relation to sport. This research, to be published in a report, is intended as a useful assessment tool for all stakeholders in the sports world, who for years have been attempting to fight against episodes of racism and discrimination in general.
