The Tracker Culture & Public Policy | MONDIACULT Special Issue n°3
This monthly Tracker is produced by UNESCO to monitor culture in public policy with regards to the UN Sustainable Development Agenda. It highlights developments within national and regional contexts, as well as emerging debates on culture's contribution to sustainable development. Drawing on a variety of sources, it provides a broad overview of cultural policy trends worldwide at the national, regional and international level and looks at ways in which countries integrate culture into other policy areas.

In this third part of a special series counting down to the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2022, we take stock of the evolutions in approaches to cultural heritage, and the ways in which cultural heritage has become over the years the standard-bearer for demands for a greater recognition of the role of communities in its preservation and safeguarding, for social inclusion and for future generations. New directions for safeguarding the future of our past and present will be one of the critical issues to be discussed by Ministers and concerned stakeholders at MONDIACULT 2022, due to take place in Mexico in September.
