REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL - Women for Bees

UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia plans to implement a project “Women for Bees: Empowering the women from Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve in India” by providing them with alternate income source through eco-friendly beekeeping practices that align with the biodiversity goals of the Biosphere Reserve”. 

Within the context of the Office's Science Programme, under the authority of the Director and direct supervision of the Head of Science Sector, the Office is seeking a Contractor that shall undertake activities to (i) Equip women from local communities in Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve with beekeeping skills and business knowledge to enhance their economic independence and leadership roles within their communities and / or(ii) Conduct a feasibility study in the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve to assess the current knowledge, skills, and resources available for beekeeping by women.

The contractor can choose to apply for activities in both the biosphere reserves or either. Kindly fill in Technical and Financial proposals accordingly.

The contract will be for a duration of 8 months to be completed by October 2025 for both the tasks in which the following tasks will be required to be undertaken.
