Work assignment
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Culture Programme Coordinator, the Volunteer will perform the following assignments from 22 November 2021 to 14 February 2021:
1.1. Support in editing/proofreading project documents, including reports, web stories and other documents related to Culture and Development, and Cultural Appropriate Approaches.
1.2. Providing support in research, proposal writing for fundraising and collecting and analyzing literature (including journal articles, newspaper articles, and reports) on the topics relevant to the Office’s programmes and activities, particularly in the Sectors of Culture, including mapping national, regional and global potential donors or partnerships.
1.3. Assist the Office’s communications and reporting, using a result – based approach, including:
Support with edition and proof-reading in English, writing reviews, success stories, news items, content for website and developing reports on programmes and activities.
Support drafting and editing of project proposals and concept notes for Regular Programme.
Support the development of materials for seminars, workshops, trainings and other meetings/events.
Perform any other task as deemed appropriate by the Head of Office and the Culture Programme Coordinator.
Location
Online volunteering service will be provided for the Culture Sector in UNESCO Ha Noi Office. There will be no workspace for the volunteer in UNESCO Ha Noi Office.

Requirement:
English native speaking
Solid background, qualifications and working experiences in the areas of Culture studies (including anthropology, ethnography), Education, Media/Communications, Political science and/or social sciences
Duration of work: 01 January 2022 – 31 March 2022, with flexibility upon the discussion with the candidates.

The Volunteer commits to the following:
1.1. To fulfil his/her role as outlined in the attached Description of Volunteer Assignment without receiving any remuneration, subsidy, compensation, or other benefit from UNESCO, unless specifically authorized.
1.2. To comply with the Organization’s rules, regulations, policies, procedures and directives.
1.3. To refrain from conduct that may adversely reflect upon UNESCO and shall not engage in activities incompatible with the aims and objectives of UNESCO.
1.4. To conduct himself/herself at all times in a manner compatible with his/her status as a Volunteer with UNESCO.
1.5. To adhere to the Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service.
1.6. To carry out the volunteer assignment and regulate own conduct with the interest of UNESCO only in view, and in the framework of the volunteer assignment, not to seek or accept instructions from any authority external to UNESCO, unless specifically authorized to do so.
1.7. To keep confidential any and unpublished information made known to him/her by the Organization during the course of the assignment and not to publish any reports or papers based on information obtained or made available to him/her during the assignment, except with the written authorization of UNESCO. This provision shall remain in effect after the expiration of the volunteer assignment.Ìý
