President PARK Geun-hye visits UNESCO to mark the Organization鈥檚 70th anniversary
Paris, 30 November鈥擯ark Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea, will visit UNESCO on the occasion of the Organization鈥檚 70th anniversary on 1 December.
The President of Korea will hold a bilateral meeting with the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, and sign an agreement for the creation of an International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the auspices of UNESCO in the city of Chungju.
At 11.30 a.m., President Park will speak about UNESCO鈥檚 achievements and the challenges it faces as it celebrates its 70th anniversary. Her address to Permanent Delegates of UNESCO Member States and members of the diplomatic community will also reflect the Republic of Korea鈥檚 perspective on UNESCO鈥檚 mission in education, science, culture and communication and information.
Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Kim Jong-deok were part of the delegation that accompanied President Park Geun-hye during her visit.
