Mobilisation Session starts the countdown for the celebrations 50th Anniversary of the UNESCO-MAB Programme

On February 17, hundreds of representatives from UNESCO Biosphere Reserves across the world聽got together virtually to warm up for the 50th Anniversary celebrations of UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme

The session featured the main aspects of the global campaign to increase visibility of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and the mission of the programme, with the statements from the Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, the Chair of MAB's International Co-ordinating Council, Adepoju Adeshola, the official spokesperson of the anniversary, Dr Jane Goodall, as well as representatives of regional and MAB Youth networks.

The official launching will take place during UNESCO's Biodiversity Forum in March 24.
