This document represents one of the pioneering contributions to approach the path taken by Latin America and the Caribbean through major regional educational projects implemented from 1945 to the present, where the 2030 Agenda, and in particular SDG 4, represent the horizon to which countries have committed to reach.

These projects have been a key factor in the construction of common regional frameworks, which have deepened the understanding of education as a human right and the essential role that States play in ensuring universal access to quality education, without losing sight of the diversity and richness of the contexts and national educational agendas.
