The Khalili Family Trust donates two vases from the Meiji-era to UNESCO
On the occasion of the annual meeting of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors, Professor Nasser David Khalili donated two pairs of Japanese Meiji-era vases, dated from the late 19th century to UNESCO. The ceremony took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 30 June 2014.
鈥淚 wish to thank Professor Khalili for this extraordinary donation, and also, on this occasion, to pay tribute to him,鈥 said the Director-General.
鈥淚 believe these vases embody the moral and intellectual dedication you bring to promoting intercultural and interreligious dialogue, including as Chairman of the Maimonides Foundation.鈥
In 2012, UNESCO named entrepreneur and philanthropist, Nasser David Khalili, as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of peace through culture and education.
