鈥渃ulture, even in the most extraordinary moments, must not be overlooked. Rather, it should be embraced as a means of respite, escape and nourishment for the soul. Access to culture and the arts is essential in these days of confinement and quarantine. It provides us with moments of wonder and joy; it allows us to learn and discover new things, and it is what unites us all, even when we are physically separated.鈥

The President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, invited citizens to support the artists who, from the various digital platforms, are organizing to bring, art, culture, music, dance, cinema for the enjoyment of people without having to leave home and prevent the evolution of COVID-19.

"I applaud this initiative of the culture sector that unite to carry a message of prevention with the aim of taking care of all of us in the face of the national emergency that we are experiencing."

For his part, Daniel Salas, Minister of Health indicated that the artists' participation will also allow insisting on the recommendations made by the health entity such as hand washing, the correct way to cough and sneeze, social distancing and the importance of staying home.

The name #SolosPeroJuntos reminds us that, although we must have social isolation, at the moment we are not alone in facing this global pandemic.

鈥淚t is wonderful that the Government, the UN agencies and the European Union are supporting the initiative, as well as that more artists want to get involved. We must unite as a country in order to fight against COVID-19, "said Sebas Guillem, the promoter of the #SolosPeroJuntos Festival.
