Acting as the foundational step in a holistic 3-step approach adopted in the initiative Enhancing UNESCO Designated Sites as Learning Landscapes, the workshop will provide interpretive agents with the knowledge and skills necessary for strategically planning the interpretation of their cultural and natural sites, based on the multi-layered values around the heritage phenomena.

As an outcome of this first module, interpretive agents are expected to develop a comprehensive strategy to enhance heritage interpretation at their sites, in alignment with UNESCO's mission and core values. This will set the stage for the subsequent activities, which will focus on formulating detailed plans for key areas within the pilot sites and developing exemplary facilities and services.

The workshop, held in Kotor, Montenegro, will take place from 28 to 31 October 2024. The project is implemented by UNESCO through its Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, in partnership with

The event is made possible thanks to the support of the European Union through the CC4WBs project, the annual contribution from Italy to the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, and self-financing from participating sites.
