Project
Earth Warriors Global
Shweta Bahri grew up in India and Keya Lamba in Hong Kong. These two young women came together around a common belief: children are the future of our changing world and need to be prepared from a young age to take care of our planet.
In 2020, they created Earth Warriors Global to fill a gap in comprehensive, age-appropriate educational materials for young children. Their mission is to tackle the climate crisis by empowering 2 billion children to take action through age-appropriate climate education
Shweta and Keya provide a comprehensive climate education curriculum for children aged 3 to 11 using a positive and empowering approach.
Through the Earth Warriors platform, schools can obtain a comprehensive climate program for children aged 3 to 11. Teachers receive training, lesson plans and guidance materials that are easy to implement and require minimal preparation.
A positive and empowering approach
The platform provides high quality education resources which have been reviewed by experts from Harvard and Stanford Universities. This tested play-based and solutions-focused approach empowers children to learn about climate change without causing any feelings of stress and anxiety.
Shweta and Keya have designed the school curriculum to be implemented flexibly in a variety of different contexts, making it globally scalable. It is 100% sustainable with no plastic materials, nor any additional materials sent physically to schools, which also makes scaling it low-cost. Teachers can access their resources and training online while all activities are done using materials found in nature, or materials considered waste at home or in schools.
The project has reached over 600 students in 4 different countries (US, UK, Botswana and India). Shweta and Keya鈥檚 goal is to reach as many schools as possible around the world.
