Director-General’s official visit to Cameroon

From 16 to 17 September 2014, the Director-General will undertake an official visit to Cameroon, where she is expected to meet the President of the Republic H.E. Mr Paul Biya, and the First Lady Ms Chantal Biya.

The Director-General is also expected to meet the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Mr Philemon Yang, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo and the Minister of Basic Education and President of the National Commission of Cameroon to UNESCO, Ms Adidja Alim Youssouf. The Director-General is also expected to meet with the UN Resident Coordinator Ms Najat Rochdi.

In Yaoundé, the Director-General will inaugurate UNESCO’s Multi sectoral Regional Office for Central Africa (Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equitorial Guinea,, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe). She will deliver a speech on the role of education for development at the ENS of Yaoundé, in the présence of the minister of education.
