Criança Esperança opens 2019 campaign for donations by phone and website

The major campaign show will be broadcast on 19 August 2019 (Monday), bringing attractions such as Ivete Sangalo, Anitta, and Sandy & Junior.

The Project reaches its 34th edition in 2019 with the transparency and credibility that have consolidated it as one of the longest and most important social mobilization campaigns in the country. It has created opportunities and helped transform the context of thousands of Brazilian children, adolescents, and young adults. From 27 July to 25 August 2019, the campaign will be receiving donations by phone that will benefit 91 social institutions across the country. They work to improve the quality of life and offer opportunities to children, adolescents, and young adults, especially those in vulnerable situations.

This year, Criança Esperança counts on 31 mobilizers (see the list below). They have traveled around the country to visit the selected institutions to inform them that they will receive the resources for next year. From the 91 selected institutions, 47 of them will be benefited for the first time. The complete list of the selected institutions will be available soon at the campaign’s website.  The group of mobilizers is diverse and engaged, having the function to help raise awareness of society regarding the rights of children, adolescents, and youth.

Rafael Dragaud will be the artistic director and Antonia Prado will be the general director of the major Criança Esperança show, which will be live broadcasted on 19 August 2019, right after the 9 o’clock soap opera. Among the confirmed attractions of the show are Sandy & Junior, Iza, Ivete Sangalo, and Anitta.  Besides addressing relevant issues of the Brazilian social agenda, the show will highlight the importance of searching for the child that exists inside of us for renewing our hopes.

The Big Tables of Hope (Mesões da Esperança) will take place on 17, 18 and 25 August 2019, when over 100 artists and influencers will spend time at the Globo Studios to answer to calls from donators. They will be live broadcasted and sporadically shown along the three days.

The donations by phone can be through the following numbers: 0500 2019 007 (to donate R$7); 0500 2019 020 (to donate R$20); and 0500 2019 040 (to donate R$40). Through the website, it is possible to donate any amount starting from R$1, and it can be done all year long.

About the Criança Esperança

It has been 34 years since Criança Esperança started creating opportunities, empowering people and transforming the lives of children, adolescents, and young adults. So far, more than R$ 370 million in donations have been invested in Brazil in more than 5 thousand social projects acting in key areas such as education, sports, culture, inclusion, and citizenship, benefiting more than 4 million children and adolescents across the country. It is possible to donate along the whole year through the Criança Esperança website ().

The collected resources will be deposited directly at UNESCO’s bank account. UNESCO is in charge of the project selection made through annual public notices. After the project selection, UNESCO monitors the projects and makes technical and financial guidance of the benefitted projects.  Criança Esperança is a project of Globo in partnership with UNESCO and with millions of Brazilians.
