Call for expressions of interest to contribute to the UNESCO Global Report on Cultural Policies 2025
Background
UNESCO invites UNESCO Chairs to express their interest in contributing to the first edition of the Global Report on Cultural Policies and thereby amplify the transformative power of culture for sustainable development!
Building on the momentum generated by the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2022, where the integration of culture as a standalone goal in the post-2030 development agenda was strongly advocated, this report will play a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for discussions at the forthcoming UNESCO World Forum on Cultural Policies - MONDIACULT 2025, addressing priority areas for cultural policy in a constructive and inclusive dialogue.
The Global Report will consist of seven chapters, based on the priorities set out by the MONDIACULT 2022 Declaration, namely:
- Guaranteeing Cultural Rights
- Leveraging Digital Technologies in the Culture Sector
- Fostering Culture and Arts Education
- Enabling a Sustainable Economic Ecosystem for Culture
- Protecting and Promoting Culture in the Face of Climate Change
- Protecting Artists and Culture at Risk
- Anchoring Culture as a Global Public Good for Sustainable Development, Peace, and Security: Towards a Culture Goal Post-2030.
The role of the selected UNESCO Chairs will be to assist the authors in the drafting process, providing additional research, data, analysis and evidence on regional trends, as well as insights based on their expertise.
