Project
Blue Umbrella Cafe
The "Blue Umbrella Cafe" project aims to provide a safe and supportive space for refugee journalists, where they can interact, learn, and develop both personally and professionally. All of this is done while promoting solidarity and empathy towards others and promoting mental health and well-being among participants.
To achieve this, an alternative space is offered for leisure and self-knowledge and that of others, under the framework of promoting mental health and creating/consolidating support networks.
The project will offer alternative responses to addressing and intervening in the history of violence and stressful and traumatic episodes of many of the attendees. Additionally, it seeks to encourage processes of resignification and favorable transformation of histories, projections, perceptions, and senses of life.
Blue Umbrella Cafe has a strong personal component. People learn in the space about self-concept, self-esteem-image, recognition of emotions, emotional regulation, healthy habits, post-traumatic stress, reconciliation and/or forgiveness, decision-making and problem-solving, and resilience.
In addition, the topics addressed are approached through performing arts, literary arts, crafts, music, dance, and singing.
Activities
Training will be provided for the promotion of mental health.
