UNESCO Ha Noi office is looking for a a company or institution to implement project activities during July – September 2020 with following details:
Background
Trang An is the latest inscribed World Heritage site of Viet Nam. Although the local government, together with some key private sector businesses invested in academic research on the values of the site, there have been very few findings and elements translated into interpretation framework.
The project “Promote Quality Heritage tourism in Trang An” aims to improve the quality of heritage tourism in Trang An through an integrated management approach and the promotion of sustainable tourism practices complementing the property’s OUVs. Specific objectives include:
• Enhance site management capacity particularly in visitor monitoring and management;
• Strengthen heritage interpretation framework and practices;
• Improve small scale and community-based tourism services for sustainability.
Within the framework of project, site thematic curriculum for heritage guiding incorporating the site’s recognized values and a 5 days training for trainer workshop will be implemented in July 2020 to enhance the capacity of heritage manager and improve local professional guides and community’s better understanding and interpretation skill on World Heritage values.
Tasks and responsibilities
In particular, under the supervision by the Culture Program Coordinator - UNESCO Office in Viet Nam, the Contractor, shall conduct the following tasks:
Provide Consultancy service and inputs for adaptation the Vietnamese version of the core modules of Cultural Heritage Specialist Guides.
Complete the thematic module for Trang An WHS with additional Q&A chapter.
To supervise and facilitate the heritage guide training for trainers including field visit and one public lecture that will be organized during 5 days at Trang An in July 2020 together with UNESCO project team.
Provide trainers to delivering lectures and addressing questions from participants during 5 days training sessions and field visits.
To support UNESCO’s and local counterparts including Provincial Department of Tourism, in the administration of exams and final performance evaluation process.
