A Collaborative Platform
To foster global coalitions and enhance collaborative research, this portal was designed for experts to monitor real-time data, contribute their findings, and focus on specific details as required.
With a world map, users can track biospheres, world heritage sites, and parks across the globe. Users can select a particular region, overlay multiple data layers, and access vital details such as the number of inhabitants, the surface area of the country, and ongoing projects within that area.
NASA provides satellite imagery to our platform, allowing experts to monitor forest fires in real time.
Experts are encouraged to contribute their data, further enhancing this shared resource.
Creating Tools for Experts Worldwide
Earth Network, over 320 experts from 60+ countries active in 2,000 global sites.
Spearheaded by UNESCO and supported by the Government of Italy, the Earth Network brings together global experts to address biodiversity issues. This initiative matches UNESCO sites with ecological threats to top scientists who devise customized solutions. Experts collaborate on-site with local communities, blending global expertise with local insights.
As the network expands, its successes will offer a blueprint for effective strategies to combat biodiversity loss worldwide.
Mobilising experts from across the spectrum of environmental knowledge to help countries and communities achieve their biodiversity goals. This project is developed by UNESCO with the support of the Government of Italy.
Improving resilience and halting biodiversity loss in the Greater Amazon Basin. This project is implemented with the support of LVMH.
