Daniel Humm

UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Food Education

Critically acclaimed Swiss chef Daniel Humm is a passionate advocate for revitalizing gastronomy as the cornerstone of healthy eating and sustainable farming practices. He is the chef-owner of Eleven Madison Park in New York, a restaurant that has been awarded three Michelin stars.

In 2020, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, he defied all the expectations of the culinary world by converting his renowned Eleven Madison Park restaurant into a plant-based establishment.

Through his co-founded initiative, Eleven Madison Home, he served over 3,000 meals daily to New Yorkers in need.

As a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Food Education, he is committed to promoting plant-based eating while supporting UNESCO's efforts with local communities to preserve natural ecosystems.

Last June, Daniel Humm visited the Champlain-Adirondack UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Vermont, USA, taking part in educational activities with youth at Shelburne Farms promoting healthy eating habits grounded in the protection of biodiversity.
