These archives not only have historical value, but they are also the source to enable individuals and peoples to seek humanitarian actions, the search for the disappeared, reparation and justice in the future. In these archives, the voices of the victims preserve for history the personal experiences of horror and sacrifice, which also shed light on national and regional processes related to power, democracy and the human condition.
Currently, this legacy suffers the indifference of public opinion and political actors, many of whom prefer to forget the past. Preserving and disseminating these archives will ensure their protection and increase the support of the international community, highlighting their importance and potential for peace and democracy.
