Rossy de Palma

Spanish actress Rossy de Palma was named Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Diversity in October 2022, in recognition of her commitment to creativity, diversity of cultural expression and bringing peoples closer together in their common humanity.

Actress, model, singer and visual artist, Rossy de Palma made a name for herself with her roles in the films of Pedro Almodóvar.

Since her early days, Rossy de Palma has been known for her outspokenness, her refusal to accept fatalism and for taking a stand. She denounces the tyranny of the gaze of others, to which she has been subjected since childhood, and which often stigmatises difference.

In May 2022, she presided over the Caméra d'Or jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

In her capacity as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for cultural diversity, Rossy De Palma, actively engaged in an online campaign commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.

The Bon Marché Rive Gauche honoured Rossy de Palma with an exhibition and a show titled 'La Vie en Rossy', supported by micro-donations to UNESCO's cultural diversity and creativity programme, in September 2023.
