Mauro Colagreco was designated UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for biodiversity in November 2022, in the light of its commitment to biodiversity, its involvement in the transmission of "savoir-faire" to the youth.

From his native Argentina to his Côte d'Azur terroirs, chef Mauro Colagreco is committed to developing a circular gastronomy that respects the cycle of nature. Settled in Menton since 2006, he built the Mirazur restaurant, crowned with the prestigious 3 Michelin stars, then voted n°1 on the list of the 50 best restaurants in the world, and obtained "Plastic Free" certification.

Mauro Colagreco is committed to supporting the Man and the Biosphere, a UNESCO programme that support biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

On November 9, 2023, during his participation in the session on biodiversity in the wake of the UNESCO General Conference's High-Level Events, chef Mauro Colagreco used this platform to plead for the protection of the Amazon as a biodiversity haven.
