Our Publications
UNESCO’s publications are an important means of advancing and sharing knowledge with the aim to contribute to accomplishing the Organization’s goals. While some are meant to inform the general public, many provide specialists with expert knowledge drawn from UNESCO’s fields of competence.

A comic book developed jointly by NCERT and UNESCO New Delhi, this publication is designed to be an interactive and educational tool to compliment the implementation of the School Health and Wellness Programme under Ayushman Bharat.
The comic book covers eleven themes, notably growing up healthy, emotional well-being and mental health, interpersonal relationships, values and citizenship, gender equality, nutrition, health and sanitation, prevention and management of substance abuse, promotion of healthy lifestyles, reproductive health and HIV prevention, safety and security against violence and injuries, and promotion of internet safety and responsible social media behaviour.
In collaboration with UNESCO, NIUA has developed the Good Governance for Urban Inclusion through Data and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (GUIDE) initiative to mainstream these principles in the urban planning of Indian cities.
This report acts as a comprehensive manual, guiding the step-by-step process of mapping disaggregated disability data through participative approaches, allowing for replication in different contexts and empowering stakeholders to create their own disability-inclusive city profiles.

Open Access Policy
In order to help reduce the gap between industrialized countries and those in the emerging economies, UNESCO decided in 2013 to adopt an Open Access Policy for its publications by making use of a new dimension of knowledge sharing.
Open Access means free access to scientific information and unrestricted use of electronic data for everyone.
For UNESCO, adopting an Open Access Policy means to make thousands of its publications freely available to the public.
