Keynote Lecture - Hartmut Rosa
In keeping with the tradition of hosting great thinkers at UNESCO since its inception (such as Levi-Strauss, Amartya Sen, and Edgar Morin), the 2024 edition will welcome philosopher and sociologist Hartmut Rosa. Recognized as a leading contemporary thinker, Hartmut Rosa is particularly known for his incisive analysis of modernity through the lens of social acceleration. His concept of "resonance" offers a response to the challenges of our era, marked by speed and alienation. His influence is significant in discussions on societal well-being and alternatives to dominant economic models.
A lecture by Hartmut Rosa at UNESCO is therefore highly relevant. His insights will enrich the international dialogue on reconciling technological progress with human flourishing. He will exclusively present his new concept, "social energy," at UNESCO headquarters, reaffirming the organization's role as a platform for promoting emerging ideas.
The UNESCO headquarters is located at 7 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris. The public entrance is at 125 Avenue de Suffren.
All participants must register.
World Day will take place in Room I, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
