The UNESCO team in Iraq met with representatives from the Governor of Nineveh鈥檚 office, Deparment of Antiquities, the Sunni Endowment, DMA, Ministry of Defence and UNMAS.

During a meeting marked by a strong spirit of cooperation, participants agreed on one plan for demining the old city of Mosul starting from its monumental landmarks of Al Nouri Mosque and Al Hadba minaret. This will enable UNESCO to implement its initiative in Mosul which aims at the rehabilitation of the historic urban fabric of the city, including the reconstruction of Al Nouri and Al Hadba, houses of historic character, churches, mosques, schools and other public
