UNESCO and the State of Qatar sign agreement to strengthen cooperation
This agreement underscores a shared commitment to common interests in the fields of education, the preservation of cultural heritage, climate change and social transformations, and promises to be an insightful and forward-looking platform for cooperation. The renovation of the Host Country Agreement also represents an opportunity to reinforce UNESCO’s presence in the region as the UNESCO regional office covers Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. "This agreement represents a critical step forward in our partnership with the State of Qatar" said His Excellency Mr Salah Khaled, UNESCO Representative for the Gulf States and Yemen. " I would like to express the deep value that UNESCO places upon the partnership that has been built over the years.”
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization that works to build peace through international cooperation in education, the sciences and culture.
