New technologies — especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) — are reshaping the way we access, share, and engage with information. Digital platforms, run by globally influential companies, now play a major role in shaping narratives, building connections, and amplifying voices. While these tools open up exciting opportunities for public participation, they also bring important challenges. On May 6th, join UNESCO and partners for a dynamic series of in-person events focused on AI human rights-based governance and information integrity. Together, we’ll explore practical tools and strategies to:

  • Protecting Critical Voices — Human Rights Impact Assessment Guidance on Digital Platforms
10:00–12:00 - Organized by UNESCO and OHCHR
  • Responding to Hate Campaigns in Elections — A Masterclass for Journalists
14:00–16:00 - Organized by UNESCO Social Media 4 Peace project
  • AI and Information Integrity Governance — Approaches to Promote Trust and Innovation
16:30–18:00 - Organized by UNESCO and OECD

These sessions will be held in English and provide a unique space for open dialogue and collaboration at the intersection of technology, rights, and media.
