Agenda of the Conference

Day 1 - High-Level Policy Forum

The Regional Conference will feature a High-Level Policy Forum for Ministers of Education to discuss boys' disengagement
and collaborative solutions.

Days 2-3 - Regional Symposium

It will be followed by a two-day Regional Symposium with plenary sessions, panel discussions, youth engagement and skills-building workshops.

 

Organizers of the Conference

The Regional Conference is organized by the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information (MOESYI) of Jamaica in partnership wih UNESCO.

As a partner, UNESCO will also provide technical inputs to the Conference, including a background paper analyzing the
situation of boys underperformance, dropout and disengagement from education in the Caribbean; while highlighting effective interventions to address the issue and technical advice to craft the Ministerial Statement of Commitment as well as a framework for action.
