In an era where education must be inclusive and comprehensive, the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future Plus Project recognizes the essential role of technology in effectively delivering Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). To support this effort, a capacity building meeting was held in Dodoma from March 3rd to 6th, 2025, aimed at empowering higher learning institutional ICT officers responsible for managing the CSE Online Course, enhancing their ability to effectively oversee and administer the program.

The sessions were graced by key representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), along with government partners such as the National Commission for UNESCO (NATCOM) and the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). Additionally, CSE administrators from 24 Higher and Tertiary Education Institutions (HTEIs) were in attendance, underscoring the significance of the gathering.

This meeting significantly boosted CSE administrators' skills in managing the CSE Online Course, a critical step toward enhancing CSE delivery. It also deepened their understanding of the course's Key Performance Indicators, improving their ability to generate and report data effectively. Additionally, administrators gained valuable experience in integrating essential student demographic information into the Learning Management System (LMS), enabling more precise and impactful data collection and reporting.

I've attended many meetings, but this has been one of the most impactful capacity-building sessions I've ever experienced. It provided me with valuable insights into the project and enhanced my understanding of integrating student demographic information, along with CSE data generation and management. What once seemed impossible now feels achievable

Participants actively shared best practices in data management, discussing strategies for effective data storage, restoration, and accessibility. These exchanges aimed to enhance data security and usability for future needs. To support ongoing collaboration, an online group of ICT officers was established, fostering a strong community of practice in managing the CSE online course.

UNESCO’s Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3) Plus project seeks to ensure that young people in higher and tertiary education institutions (HTEIs) in Tanzania realize positive health, education, and gender equality outcomes through sustained reductions in new HIV infections, unintended pregnancy and sexual and gender-based violence. Currently Implemented in 26 HTEIs, benefiting over 150,000 young people.
