INSPIRE (Europe's Centre of Excellence on inclusive gender equality in research and innovation)

Cross-Cutting Themes

Funded by the European Union through its Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, the INSPIRE project is an initiative dedicated to advancing inclusive gender equality in research and innovation. The project develops empirical research for inclusive Gender Equality Plans (GEP) by developing indicators and monitoring surveys as well as case studies to identify the conditions necessary for GEP impact, traces of intersectionality for greater equality in higher education institutions and policy for gender inclusive innovations. The project features 4 thematic Knowledge and Support Hubs (KSHs) led by academics and practitioners throughout Europe to develop cutting-edge knowledge on sustaining change, widening participation, intersectionality and fostering innovation and change in the private sector. These KSHs provide support to 12 communities of practice to facilitate GEP implementation and foster mutual support for the co-development of innovative practices, customised training and pan-European data collection. By integrating gender-sensitive innovations and inclusive policies, INSPIRE aims to transform the research ecosystem across Europe.
