The Academy for Girls Inspiration to Science (AGIS), an initiative by , is dedicated to enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) opportunities for girls in Niger. Confronting challenges such as limited access to quality education, a scarcity of female role models, and enduring gender stereotypes, AGIS has developed a science exploration programme to bridge these gaps and inspire the next generation of female STEM leaders.
The AGIS programme includes:
- Hands-on STEM Workshops and Field Trips: These engaging activities are designed to spark curiosity, enhance technical skills, and expose girls to real-world STEM applications.
- Community Projects: Initiatives that empower participants to challenge gender biases by applying their STEM knowledge to address local challenges.
- Leadership and Communication Training: Sessions aimed at equipping girls with essential skills to boost confidence, enhance public speaking, and prepare them for leadership roles in STEM fields.
